Establishment of the Department of Energy Act 585AER[]

Be it enacted by the Emperor's most Excellent Majesty, Vinther III, by and with the advice and consent of the Chamber of Deputies and the Imperial Senate, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:--

RECOGNISING that the world is shifting towards a new era where advancements in the field of nuclear technology shall take center stage. 

SECTION 1: ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DOE[]

1.1 This Act shall establish a new cabinet-level governmental Department of Energy ("DOE")

1.2 The mission of the DOE shall be to ensure Falleentium’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.

1.3 The Department of Energy shall become a principal office of state, being a mandatory ministry as stipulated by the Ministries Paragraph. 

1.4 The DOE shall be administered by the Falleen Secretary of Energy. 

1.5 A mandatory regulatory commission under the DOE shall be established by this Act named the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

SECTION 2: DUTIES[]

2.1 The duties of the Department of Energy shall be:

  • 2.1A to manage the Falleen Nuclear Deterrence System (FNDS);
  • 2.1B to conduct regulatory activities in the four primary program areas of rulemaking, licensing, oversight, and incident response for commercial nuclear power reactors and commercial power plants in general.;
  • 2.1C to test and research reactors to protect the public health, safety, and the environment;
  • 2.1D to manage, regulate and find solutions for energy conservation, energy related research, nuclera waste disposal, and domestic energy production; 
  • 2.1E to oversee and fund a network of federal laboratories to carry out the aforementioned research; and
  • 2.1F to manage education initiatives on energy related matters.
