Chairman of the Coalition of Conservative Unionists (Conservatives), Patrick McLoughlin MP, gave a short update today in the press room of the Conservatives HQ.

"The Conservative Unionists are forever changing and adapting to the times. We want a party that is ran by the people, for the people and with the people. That means we must listen to our members and supporters and crucially be willing to make critical changes whenever they are needed. Last night, in a meeting between Party Executive, Leadership and Members, the party voted unanimously to make a change to our party constitution. Us Conservatives take change postively and see it is a necessary thing to modernise and keep up to date. We represent the people and as such, we ought to be guided by the people.

In the Party Constitution, under the leadership election clause, there is no set period in which leadership elections cannot be held. An extra provision was added last night which reads: 'During times of war, national grief or extreme national emergencies, a leadership election - or contest - may not be held to save the unity of our supporters, members and executives and most importantly, to keep spirit and morale high between the free peoples of the Empire of Falleentium'. As with any provision, a vote by the Leadership and Executive may overturn this.

There is no time for party political games in war. That is a strong, staunch, belief held by the Conservatives. We strongly condemn any party creating division at this very time as it is so crucial we have a feeling of belonging to one's Empire. We are all responsible for each other. Responsible for our home front and battle front. It's time we got on with the job and sing our proud motto loud and wide: Yes, Falleentium Can!"
