The Port Anderson Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Overseas Territory of Port Anderson.
Organisation and power[]
The Assembly is the body from which government is formed. The main job of the Assembly is to scrutinize the government's actions and ministers. The parliamentary convention dictates that the Duke or Ducal Official appoints the leader of the largest party and/or coalition to become the State Chancellor and thus form a government.
The Port Anderson Assembly is elected by direct, universal and secret vote among the citizens of the territory in a Mixed-Member Proportional Representation system, not unlike that which is used in federal elections.
